Michael O’Grady, age 63, of Fairfield, Maine died suddenly at Thayer Hospital on January 8, 2021. Mike was born in Meriden, CT, on June 12, 1957 to Barbara Spaltro and Bernard O’Grady.
Mike was disabled and enjoyed spending his time watching sports, he was especially fond of bowling and softball. He enjoyed collecting antique cars, talking to his boys, and watching his grandchildren grow. He also enjoyed watching and cheering on his son, Chris, as he played softball. Mike loved to go to the ballfield and to “harass” his softball family.
Mike is survived by his sons, Christopher and daughter-in-law Christina O’Grady of Sidney, Maine, Matthew and daughter-in-law Maegan O’Grady of Southington, CT, Tyler O’Grady and daughter-in-law Skylar Anderson of Providence, RI and two beautiful granddaughters, Liliana, and Poppy. Michael was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his first grandson, Oliver, due in May. He is also survived by his stepfather Lindsay Spaltro of Wallingford, CT, father and stepmother, Bernard and Reta O’Grady of Port Charlotte, FL, and lifelong friend and former wife, Maureen St. Laurent, and her husband Blair St. Laurent of Wallingford, CT. Michael was predeceased by his loving mother Barbara Spaltro and sister Brenda O’Grady.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the West River Hall, 37 Orlando St, West Haven, CT on Sunday, January 17th from 1:00 – 4:00pm. The memorial will be held at 1:30pm with a reception to follow.
There will be a Celebration of Life this summer for his Maine softball family, dates TBD.
